Removal of asbestos siding from the machine shop in preparation for demolition. The space will be used for future ore processing facilities to be constructed in the coming months.

Removal of hazardous materials from the roof and siding of the old machine shop took place in November of 2022.

The beginning of demolition of the old machine shop to make room for the planned mill site. Demolition of the large shop took place over a weeks' time.

Completion of the old machine shop demolition in December of 2022. All building materials were transported off site for proper disposal.

Removal of the thick concrete foundation of the old machine shop began in September of 2023.

Excavation of the hillside provided the necessary real estate for construction of the planned mill facilities.

Final preparations to prepare the future mill building site finished in November of 2023.

Bunker Hill’s Environmental Programs Manager, Morgan Hill, provided invaluable services in the recording of the construction of the new Russell Portal with a time-lapse camera.

Surveyor Glenn Knodle continuously directed the advance of the 5-6 level decline, 1,800 feet of development that provided first-time rubber-tired access to 2 million tons of mineralized material in the upper portions of the mine.

In 2023 alone, Bunker Hill coordinated for the proper disposal of over 82,000 lbs. of various historic chemicals that were found on site as the team continues to ready the site for the restart of mining operations.

Bunker Hill management and safety personnel join GMS Mine Repair & Maintenance in overseeing the progress of the Russell Portal upgrade in Wardner in September of 2023.

Steel sets for the upgraded 16’ x 16’ portal Russell Portal were put into place in October of 2023. The upgrade from the old 10’ x 10’ prefab concrete portal supports the planned 1,800 tpd operation, with the possibility for significant upside capacity.

The Russell Portal upgrade was completed in October of 2023, and will allow for ease of access for the fleet of 20 ton+ trucks and 4-6 yard loaders, as well as the installation of a 300hp compressor and mainline fan.

Miners advanced the face of the 5-6 level decline 10’ at a time, day and night. Upon completion, the decline granted rubber-tired access to over 2 million tons of mineralized material in the upper portions of the mine.

Bunker Hill successfully piloted a water treatment plant designed at 1/20th of the full-scale facility and implemented a testing program that successfully met discharge standards for the ~1,500 gallons of water every minute that exit the mine via the Kellogg tunnel.
